Each of our goldens lives in a home, as a family member for their entire lives. Not one of our goldens lives in a kennel and we intend to keep it that way. Goldens, like most dog breeds, thrive on relationships and companionship, they don’t like to spend time alone for long periods.  Our goldens are respected family members first and being part of our breeding program is a bonus part of their lives. 

Golden retrievers main health conditions involve hip and elbow displasia, eye conditions such as progressive retinal atrophy (pra), pigmentary uveitis and juvenille catracts, and heart disease such as subvalvular aortic stenosis. Fortunately we can screen our intended breeding stock for these conditions and make an informed decision of whether to move forward with breeding or not. Unfortunately breeding a health cleared dog is still never a 100% guarantee that any offspring won’t someday develop health conditions, but it is an absolutely necessary starting point. 

The Girls

The moms in our breeding program have their first litter shortly after they turn 2, and provided they recover easily and are healthy, our vet clears them to have their litters back to back. Provided they are in good health, it is much safer to have back to litters than risk a serious infection called “pyometra”. Our girls only have a maximum of 4 litters and then are spayed and retired, still young and in good health to spend lots of years with their families. 

Peach (GSR Sweet Peach Blossom)

Peach is our girl from Bravo and Gracie’s very 1st litter. She is a Therapy Dog and is trained with The Phoenix Canine Initiative. She and her handler provide visits to First Responders in facilities such as OPP, Paramedics, Fire Stations, 911 dispatch, and CAS. She’s a lovely combination of both her parents, in both looks and temperament.

Maggie (GSR I Am Groot’s Daughter)

Maggie is our Chloe’s daughter, and her dad is Groot, a personality filled fellow from Fort Knox Goldens. Maggie is a beautiful girl with her dad’s unique eyes and head set, her mom’s bone structure and full coat, and a very well trained and loving companion to all who will take the time to stop and say hello. Just watch out, she’ll steal your socks and won’t feel sorry for it. Maggie was a first time mom in 2023 and brought 10 adorable new Glenannon pups into the world. We look forward to her next litter in 2024.

Kowhai (Glenannon’s Golden Kowhai Awakened In Spring)

Her beautiful name is pronounced “Ko-FI”. Kowhai is a daughter to our Peach and Goldenfield’s Zeus. She is a friend to all, human and furry, and welcomes her furry friends into her backyard for races around and around the yard. Her manners are phenomenal and she is a joy to be around. Kowhai is a smaller sized girl, she averages about 56 lbs, and she’s in excellent health and body condition. We look forward to welcoming her first litter of pups later in 2024.

Luna (Glenannon’s I’m a Luna-tic for Loving You)

Luna is a daughter to our Indie and Oshie of Henne Goldens. She is a lighter shade of golden. Luna spends her days being a best friend to her family of 4 kids and loves walks, playing outside, and the pool & beach in the summer time. Once her clearances are finished, we expect to welcome her first litter of pups later in 2024.

Tilley (Glenannon’s Save The Best For Last)

Tilley is a daughter to our Chloe and Fletch. A smart, confident, spunky girl who is the definition of a velcro dog, she just can’t get close enough to her humans. Much like her mom, she will steal your heart AND your socks ♥ Tilley’s clearances will be completed in May/June of 2024 and we intend to welcome her first litter later in 2024 or early 2025.

Fletch (GSR A Boy’s Best Friend)

Fletch is our Bravo and Gracie’s son. He is a darker red than both his parents, and has the large bone structure, broad head and big feet resembling his stunning father.  His registered name is “GSR A Boy’s Best Friend” and he spends his days living up to his name. Fletch has sired several litters for us, and we have many more off his offspring to look forward to in the future.

Phoenix (Glenannon’s Storm Chaser)

Phoenix is a son to our Piper (Youngcountry GSR Eva’s Prodigy) and sired by Oshie of Henne Goldens. He is a big, handsome boy who closely resembles his mom, but even more importantly is his disposition. Phoenix is a calm, well mannered, extremely friendly boy. He is also a graduated therapy dog with The Phoenix Canine Initiative. We are very proud of the brighter days he brings to the 1st Responders and Front Line Workers he visits regularly. And the best part is, he loves his visits as much as the humans do ♥ Phoenix sired his first litter of pups for us in fall of 2023 and we can’t wait to welcome his newest pups in 2024.

Hudson (Glenannon’s I Am Oshie’s Son)

Hudson’s nickname is “Hollywood” since he starred in a Domino’s Pizza commercial when he was still a pup. He will always be a star in our eyes,as he is training to be a Therapy Dog and even when he isn’t officially training for his role, he spends his days providing unlimited love and friendship and enjoying socialization to the fullest. Hudson is a son to our Indie and Oshie of Henne Goldens. Once his clearances are complete this spring, we will look forward to his offspring in the near future.

Kane (Glenannon’s Braveheart Kane Arose From Zeus)

This very handsome boy is a true mix of his parents. His facial features and colouring are almost identical to his mom (Peach) but his large blocky head and broad build resemble his dad (Zeus, Goldenfield Kennels). A happy fellow who loves being out in the bush with his family, using his nose to track deer, rabbits and birds. He has been working on his retrieving skills too and we may have the beginnings of a field line starting with Kane.  We will be completing his hip and elbow clearances in spring of 2024 and look forward to the pups & perhaps future bird retrievers he will produce in the near future.
