Shades of Gold

All shades of gold are equal. There is only one Golden Retriever Breed, governed by the breed standard. There is no such thing as an “english cream” line of goldens. That term is used to describe the look of the whiter, light goldens, but not an actual label. English cream is a marketing term that gets misused sometimes for breeders to make more money on certain colours than others. They’re being touted as being healthier, of having better temperament, or stronger health and longevity. This is untrue.

In our breeding program, we appreciate the heavier bone and blocky heads that the lighter lines bring to our breedings with our darker, smaller-set goldens. Our number one priority is always breeding health cleared pairs, improving the breed standard and ideal temperament.
